ADT intensity estimates have been derived historically using forecast products provided by the National
Hurricane Center, covering the North Atlantic and Eastern North Pacific (east of 140W), the
Central Pacific Hurricane Center, covering the Central Pacific west of 140W to the dateline,
and the Joint Typhoon Warning Center, covering the remainder of the world's oceans.
ADT intensity estimates are now also derived using tropical cyclone forecast products provided
by the four Regionalized Specialized Meteorological Centers (RSMC) located in Tokyo, New Delhi,
La Reunion, and Nadi, along with the three Tropical Cyclone Warning Centers (TCWC) located in Australia
in Perth, Darwin, and Brisbane.
Intensity estimates in the Western North Pacific, Indian Ocean, and South Pacific will be derived
using both the JTWC and the RSMC/TCWC forecasts.
