These high-spatiotemporal AMV datasets are produced during tropical cyclone (TC) events from targeted geostationary satellite meso-scan imagery. The precision gained from the frequent image sampling (1-2.5 min) along with ultra-high-density cloud targeting allows TC-scale flow features/details to be captured to follow the evolution of the storm structure. Datasets are produced at CIMSS in near-real-time at nominal 15-20 min intervals during periods when NESDIS (GOES) or JMA (Himawari) are targeting a TC with meso-sector scans. These datasets are available to users as ascii text files.
